Position Overview: The District Sales Manager must be a
result-driven, self-starter focused on growing sales with existing
and new customers. Must maintain and build strong relationships
with all customers, positioning yourself as a trusted and
dependable resource for their business. The incumbent will sell
custom-made, high-quality window treatments and fabrics to the
residential interior design trade and dealers. This position
reports directly to the Vice President of Business Development, and
services customers in Northern California. We are looking for

- Must be able to successfully manage an assigned territory,
balancing time between nurturing existing accounts and prospecting
new ones.
- Adaptable and organized. Comfortable performing a variety of
tasks and able to change assignments or direction on short notice.
You determine priorities and courses of action for managing
multiple tasks.
- Need to be an articulate communicator; verbally express
yourself clearly and effectively when talking with individuals or
groups, in person or by other means.
- Heavy travel within the territory to grow business in
underserved markets.
- Maintain high activity levels and gain energy from interacting
with people.
- Conduct product knowledge training for all customer types.
- Support regional locations of national account customers as
needed with training, sales support, and identifying growth
opportunities within the local markets.
- Ensure customers have current sample books, sales materials,
and pricing. Develop strategies and tactics to help them be
successful with the Carole programs.
- Assist customers in resolving complaints and issues.
- Stay informed of competitive activities.
- Self-Motivated and driven to achieve objectives and goals. You
work best without close supervision and take personal satisfaction
in job performance.
- Timely completes administrative requirements, eg call reports,
expense reports, etc.
- Resilient and maintain effectiveness and a positive attitude in
the face of disappointment or rejection.
- Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures,
including company guidelines regarding travel and entertainment
expenses.
- All other duties as assigned Note: The DSM's time is largely
unsupervised and requires a high degree of self-discipline to be
productive. Out of town and overnight travel is very common for
many territories. Use of company expenses within guidelines is
mandatory. Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License,
and a good driving record, is a condition of continued employment.
Who you are
- Education: Associates Degree
- 3+ years of retail or wholesale experience in selling to the
interior d--cor trade, especially for window covering or fabric
products.
- Extensive knowledge of and passion for the interior finishes
and design trade.
- Experience in window coverings is a strong plus.
- Must possess excellent communication and organization
skills.
- Has the drive and desire to build and continue new
business.
- Must have a verifiable track record in sales and building
partnerships with existing accounts.
- Has an assertive and proactive approach to opening new
