Percentage: Up to 25% Certified Electrical Service Technician: This
position will be a part of Rex Moore's Special Services team which
provides troubleshooting, repair, and warranty services as well as
small scale electrical/lighting installations for the commercial
and industrial industry in the Central Valley. The position is
expected to work mostly independently with direction from the
Service Manager to perform services and tasks. This requires
candidates to have troubleshooting skills and experience, critical
thinking, self-motivation, organization, and good communication
skills. The position will be equipped with a company vehicle,
iPad/computer, phone and access to a large assortment of company
tools.Responsibilities:
- Serves as an ambassador for Rex Moore
- Prioritizing and planning of assigned service assignments
- Communicating updates associated with assigned service
assignments
- Escalating problems when appropriate
- Interacting in a professional manner with customers to foster
positive relationships
- Planning, developing and procuring a complete material list for
service assignments
- Performing surveys on prospective work by collecting
information, taking pictures and developing material list
- Handle special projects as assigned by Service Manager
- Scheduled and/or unscheduled overtime work and callouts are to
be expected
- Perform preventative and predictive electrical maintenance to
maintain equipment integrity
- Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including
transformers, transfer switches, switch gear and panelboards
- Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, lighting
systems and equipment using testing instruments and equipment
Qualifications: In addition to the tasks listed, the ideal
candidate shall have, at minimum:
- Electrical trades experience with troubleshooting electrical
systems, lighting control systems and other misc. electrical
items
- Previous experience working with power/hand tools, electrical
equipment, and ability to navigate numerous computer applications
and technology independently
- Ability to travel to numerous sites daily and travel up to 1
week at a time with short notice and flexibility to work on
weekends and overtime
- Ability to work at heights above 15', work in extreme
environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift
at least 50 pounds frequently
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and an
acceptable and safe driving record
- Ability to read electrical drawings
- Proficient at the interpretation and application of blueprints,
including architectural, civil, and structural prints.
- Strong communication skills ability to provide and follow
written and verbal instructions.
- Effectively communicates technical information with peers,
assistants, project supervision & other trades.
- Demonstrate expert proficiency in all basic aspects of trade
related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods
installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, basic
calculations, blueprint, and drawing interpretation &
troubleshooting.
- Demonstrates self-motivation and initiative
- Exhibits high level of organization throughout work tasks.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Education, Certifications, Licenses:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Holds a current General Electrical certification through the
state Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory
responsibility. Work Environment:Regularly exposed to environmental
conditions inside and outside: inclement weather, cold, heat, and
humidity. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Frequently exposed to vibrations, moving mechanical parts, moving
vehicles, machines, dust and chemicals. May be required to function
in crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, and other
areas of close proximity. Occasionally required to work on elevated
surfaces including on ladders and lifts. Physical Demands: The
physical demands described are representative of those that must be
met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions
of this job.

- Frequently required to talk, express or exchange detailed,
important information by means of verbal communication.
- Constantly required to hear sounds at normal speaking levels
with or without correction. Ability to hear detailed information
and distinguish sounds to avoid hazards.
- Required to have near and far sited visual acuity with or
without correction. Must be able to inspect small parts, operating
tools, using measurement devices and/or assembly or fabrication
parts. Must also be able to visually identify and read posted
signs, instructions, and identify possible hazards
- Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy,
neatness, and thoroughness of the work
