Renewell's breakthrough technology addresses the climate crisis head on by storing massive amounts of green power for use when it is dark or windless while simultaneously cleaning up millions of inactive oil wells in the US. We need your expertise to commercialize our prototype. This is an opportunity to be one of the first hires in a company that is well-funded and poised to make a powerful impact in the renewable energy and well-remediation sectors.
Position Description: We are recruiting for an expert in mechatronics - someone who will take ownership over developing and integrating the electrical subsystems of our gravity energy storage technology. The day-to-day of this role will be evolving as we grow, and travel to vendors/customers/installation sites will be required. Responsibilities will include either directly managing or hiring contractors/support for:

• System design
• Hands-on firmware development
• Electric motor design selection
• Inverters & VFD selection, programming, troubleshooting, tuning
• Energy storage integration, optimization and management
• Electrical grid interconnection and equipment
• IoT - SCADA, cellular modems, satellite data monitoring
• Internet data communications
• Team management

  Requirements
  
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience
  • Exposure to firmware development
  • Hands-on mechatronic product development
  • Travel to vendors, customers, and installations
