Job Description:

Plan and directs implementation and administration of employee benefits programs such as health insurance, long term disability insurance, life insurance, profits sharing plans and voluntary employee savings plans.This position will work at our Fresno site.Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pmEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.Analyze and evaluate services, coverage, premium, and options available through insurance and investments companies to determine which programs best meet the needs and culture of GVHC.Maintains knowledge of and analyzes government regulations, benefits program trends, and prevailing practices among similar organizations. Recommends benefit plan changes to management.Negotiates and contracts with benefits plan provides, vendors, auditors, and consultants for services, premiums, and plan administrations.Conducts monthly financial analysis of benefits program costs and providers guidance to Finance on accruals. Analyzes benefits for cost-control and risk-assessment factors.Prepares and communicates information about benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures.Provides services to employees to answer their benefit questions and resolve problems. Orients newly eligible employees, and processes enrollment forms, changes, and loan requests.Maintains employee benefits data in automated human resources information systems.Coordinates transfer of data of external vendors, plan providers, auditors and consultants.Audits benefits plans for compliance with Company policies and government regulations.Audits monthly benefits billing.Develops, recommends and monitors budget allocations for employee benefits.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Min. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE OF: Methods, practices and terminology used in benefits and employee savings.SKILLS: Data entry (10-key and computer terminal);ABILITY TO: Meet deadlines and prioritize tasks: work efficiently with minimal supervision; detailed orientationPhysical Demands The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually quietEducation/Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree required and three (3) years of benefits administration experience; or 7-10 years of relevant work experience.
