WSP is currently initiating a search for a Commercial Director
for our Fresno, CA office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide commercial services, claims management, contract
management and effective project control to ensure that projects
are delivered on time and within budget to the client's
satisfaction in a manner that maximizes opportunities.
Ensuring that the Design and Build Contractors, Project and
Construction Manager (PCM), and other consultants working on the
program are fully compliant with Authority commercial policies,
procedures and quality system.
Supporting the business in monitoring the provisions of the
contract to ensure that payment processes are followed and payments
are received on time, that contract change management provisions
(schedule and value) are being followed such that our projects have
commercial and financial cover in place. Actively monitoring
commercial management by the PCM
Identify program improvement opportunities. Develop strategic
dispute strategy reports. Ensuring the provision of accurate,
timely, and compliant periodic and ad hoc commercial reports.

Bachelors degree in related field and/or membership of a
relevant professional body (PE/MRICS)
Significant and relevant experience within a similar role with
at least 15 years overall experience
Strong project management, organizational, and investigative
skills; ability to simplify complex concepts
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding
company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of
Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to
abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in major program
Experience with the use of standard forms of construction and
commercial contracts in the USA
Additional experience in one or more of: civil engineering
structures, infrastructure, rail
