LOCATION - Western Business Unit;-- territory includes all western states JOB SUMMARY: The Products Specialist organizes and implements technical service, product training and marketing operations to achieve short-term and long-term business development and sales growth objectives for products related to Helena Products Group portfolio.-- This individual identifies new business opportunities and develops action plans for new as well as existing products, services and markets in conjunction with Helena Products Group (HPG) Brand Managers, Strategic Account Managers, and Helena Product Managers.-- Provides planning and input for sales related trials related to---- R & D activities along with the HPG Technical Service Manager.Must primarily perform office or non-manual work directly related to management policies or general business operations.-- Also, must exercise independent choice and judgment in matters of consequence 50% or more of the time. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Promotes and positions Helena Products Group category products in the Business Unit, interfacing with Business Unit, Division and selected Branch staff. Assists the Helena Product Managers (HPMs) to plan and execute sales growth activities for Helena Products Group category products. Prepares, implements, and follows up on Business Unit and/or Division action plans which outline HPG sales activities related to new product/program development, R&D, marketing and related activities for all HPG categories. Works with the Helena Product Managers to train the salesforce in Helena Products Group category products and crop use programs enabling the sales force to confidently sell those products/programs. Provides coaching and mentoring opportunities to Helena Product Managers through territory ride a longs in support of Helena Product category products. Supports and assists Helena Product Managers in planning and implementing training programs for all HPG categories. Attends trade shows to assist with booth. Works with the Helena Products Group Marketing Services, Brand Managers and/or Strategic Account Managers to develop market analysis for possible new HPG product offerings and also existing HPG Product offerings. Coordinates the activities of Sales Representatives for outside vendors with Helena Products Groups offerings to make sure that their activities are consistent with HPG s and respective Business Unit s overall philosophy and direction. Works closely with the HPG Strategic Account Manager, Brand Managers and Technical Service Manager to develop, approve, and communicate sales materials. Maintains good communication with Brand Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Marketing Services and Helena Product Managers. Utilizes email, webinars, phone, text, and face-to-face meetings with Business Unit, Division and Corporate staff to maintain good communication. Develops a Program Approach that can be given to HPMs or Sales Representatives to enable them to sell Helena Products Group category products. Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager. Reliable and regular attendance is expected. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:-- Bachelor s degree in Agriculture or related field and a minimum of five years of sales/marketing experience in the agricultural industry required. SKILLS and ABILITIES: Written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and graphics software. Ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and restraints. Ability to perform effective sales presentations in public to both large and small audiences required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:-- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and climb or balance. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to walk.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.-- The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, periodic access to R&D plots, demonstrations, tours and production will require loud noise levels.
