Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY: As a provider, the
Nurse Practitioner (NP) will conduct comprehensive history and
physical examinations, interpret and correlate diagnostic data,
formulate diagnoses, and implement treatment plans within their
scope of practice. The NP provides specialized gynecological and
obstetrical care to women of all ages. The NP works collaboratively
with obstetricians and gynecologists, and other healthcare
professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients, including
prenatal visits, gynecological and postnatal care, and wellness
exams. The NP role involves health education, counseling, and
supporting women’s reproductive health throughout their life cycle.
The role requires sound clinical judgment and an ability to manage
patient care independently, while recognizing situations requiring
physician oversight JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Directly responsible to the
Chief Medical Officer in collaboration with clinic and hospital
leadership Works closely with OB/GYN providers and other healthcare
professionals OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS: Works in outpatient clinic
setting. May be exposed to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and to
patients in various stages of infectious conditions Samples of

comprehensive physical examinations and obtain detailed patient
histories Provide routine prenatal care in clinic setting,
including physical exams, diagnostic tests, and screenings to
monitor the health of both mother and baby Provide preventative,
wellness care to women of all ages Perform clinic-based procedures,
including insertion and removal of intrauterine devices (IUDs),
colposcopy, endometrial biopsy Provide health education to patients
including education on pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care,
reproductive health, and preventative health practices Maintain
accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
Consult with supervising physician or specialist when clinically
appropriate Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: NIHD
Mission, Vision, and Values NIHD policies, including Compliance
Program, Code of Conduct, and patient confidentiality standards
Principles and practices of orthopedic care in both clinic and
operating room settings Documentation standards and medical
billing/coding practices Skills/Abilities to: Perform thorough
history and physical examinations and document findings accurately
Independently order and interpret diagnostic tests within scope
Recognize clinical situations requiring consultation or referral
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Establish and
maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues,
patients, and the public Exhibit maturity, integrity, and sound
judgment in a clinical setting Minimum Qualifications: Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ OB/GYN-specific care Education: Graduate of
accredited NP program License/Certification: Current CA NP license
Current BLS certification Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner
Certification Preferred: Experience: Additional experience in
clinic-based OB/GYN care Trained in IUD and Nexplanon
insertion/removal, basic transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasound
use in clinic setting Education: Master’s Degree Certification:
This position is non-represented. Three days a week 8:00 - 6:00 pm
