Overview:
*All positions are located in Fresno/Clovis CA*We are currently seeking candidates who are interested in an exciting career in Cardiac Surgery. With the expansion of the new Heart and Lung Institute, we are seeking experienced Registered Nurses who are looking for a challenging career on our exclusive Cardiac Surgery team.As a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA), you will have the unique opportunity to partner with highly skilled surgeons and guide staff though multiple disciplines, develop close relationships with specialists and anesthesiologists alike, and be able to make a difference in the lives of thousands. You can expect to see the following types of cases: Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) on and off pump, Aortic Valve replacement(s) (both SAVR and TAVR), Mitral Valve Replacements and Repairs and many more.We know that our ability to provide the highest level of care begins with our incredible staff. Responsibilities:

Growth.In your role, you will provide direct patient care in the surgical environment and works collaboratively with the surgeon and other team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. You will work under the direct supervision of the surgeon during the intraoperative phase. The RN First Assistant (RNFA) may not concurrently function as the Scrub Nurse while functioning as an RNFA.
Qualifications:
Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
• Successful completion of an RNFA program that meets the Association of Perioperative RN (AORN) standards required
• Credentialed by the CHS Medical Staff Office as an Allied Health Professional and privileged to perform RN First Assistant standardized procedures requiredExperience
  • 1 year of relevant experience in area of specialty requiredLicenses and Certifications
    • RN - Current State of California Registered Nurse license required
    • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position
    • CRNFA - Certified RN First Assistant preferred
