We are looking for a Coding Document Specialist to join our growing Community Health Partners team! Community Health Partners, part of Community Health System, helps primary care physicians and specialists manage their practices. In your role, you will be responsible for the concurrent review of clinical documentation and reconciliation of physicians' performance reporting.

In your role, you will:

  • Reconcile and work assigned coding work queues in clearing edits and correct coding resolution.
  • Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of clinical documentation for assigned physician performance reconciliations by reviewing accurate and complete documentation that appropriately supports the severity of the illness/injury and intensity of service.
  • Identify the need to clarify documentation in records through coding review and initiate communication with physician, nurse and/or other healthcare providers in order to capture the documentation in the patient's medical record that supports the severity of illness and intensity of service.
  • Provides documentation education and information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff.



    • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required


      • 2 years of coding experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting required
      • Strong pathophysiology and disease management background with understanding of elements of disease processes and related procedures required

        Licenses and Certifications

        • One of the following is required
          • CCA - Certified Coding Associate
          • CCS - Certified Coding Specialist
          • CPC - Certified Professional Coder
          • COC - Certified Outpatient Coder
          • One of the following is required
            • RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician
            • RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator
