Job Description:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with the largest private employer in the Central Valley, the average day is anything but average and you will actively feel and see how your role impacts our mission and those we serve.

Rehab services are provided across the continuum at Community Medical Centers, including a Neuroscience Center and Primary Stroke Center, Joint Replacement Center of Excellence, Level III NICU, and the Leon S. Peters Rehabilitation Center. In our 30-bed inpatient rehabilitation center, we are able to treat patients earlier in their injury/diagnosis and see a high discharge to home percentage compared to regional and national facilities. Our therapy team provides 3 hours of therapy 5 to 6 days a week, utilizing our large treatment gym, ADL room, and private gym space. We treat conditions including stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, cardiac, major multiple trauma, burns, amputee, neurological conditions, debility, and pulmonary patients.

Our staff is a balanced mix of seasoned clinicians, recent graduates and everything in between. This offers an optimal environment for mentoring and implementation of the most current evidenced based practice. Being located within a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and teaching facility also provides unique opportunities for your training and growth.

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will perform occupational therapy procedures as directed by an Occupational Therapist. In this role, you will help patients with mental or physical disabilities attain or regain the highest level of functional independence. You will assist in selecting therapeutic activities and equipment most appropriate for treatment, assessing and recording patients' responses and progress, and determining when to adjust or advance patients from less to more strenuous activities.

  • Must have weekend availability.Qualifications:Experience and education minimum requirements:
    Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

    License and certification minimum requirements:
    Current State of California Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) License.
    Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
