Job Description:
If you are an experienced Service Manager, this opportunity may
be what helps you to accomplish your professional goals. You would
oversee the maintenance department of a growing agricultural
equipment company with excellent potential to continue expanding
your opportunities. The company has a clear target of improving the
performance of the company it its staff.
You will:
-Take calls from customers on service-related issues on their
equipment, diagnoses problems and send out mechanics with
appropriate parts to effect repair
-Perform repair/warranty work in house or on site as necessary
-Discuss the proper way to operate and maintain the equipment with
customers. This may include customer site training
-Discuss determination of effectiveness with customers
-Work with automated repair estimate systems, (computer) to
determine job hour estimates
-Lead the staff of mechanics to get jobs done in estimated time,
correctly
-Accomplish sales on used harvesters, gondolas and picking
mechanisms
-Arrange for transportation of equipment as needed
-Make safety job one
-Ensure service person follows safe work practices
-Conduct bi-weekly tailgate safety meetings
-Ensure all service personnel have the required driver training
-Supervise five employees
-Carry out supervisory responsibilities in per the company's rules,
plus Federal, State, and local laws
-Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
-Planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and
resolving problems
Work Environment:

-The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
REQUIREMENTS
-At least five years of progressive experience in servicing grape
harvesters and nut tree shakers
-Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or
technical school or the equivalent in experience
-Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-Able to write routine reports and correspondence
-Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
of organization
-Fluency in Spanish is a big plus
