Salary Range: $90,000 - $140,000 annually
What you will do
Picture yourself laying the foundation of employment law and
compliance, while also pouring yourself in emerging leaders as they
develop their management competencies, in an organization that
believes food is medicine and is insatiably focused on bringing the
very best in food service to our guests. There is meaning in what
we do as an organization and in what the Talent team does for our
people. The Director, Talent Management will be the strategic
partner to our Chief People Officer and operational leaders in
designing people structures, developing and enforcing policies,
interpreting and teaching employment law, guiding performance
feedback, advocating for the wellbeing for our people, and more,
all along our west coast operations. This individual is someone who
is relied upon and looked to for their HR knowledge and constant
curiosity around the evolving legal landscape and best practices in
people management.

Builds deep, trusting relationships with all colleagues and clients
to ensure their voice is a valuable part of the employee
experience.
Provides expert counsel to our people when faced with statutory and
non-statutory leave of absence needs.
Ensures alignment with client values and policies and strengthens
those relationships.
Offers guidance and develops best practices on HR/Onboarding
processes, including (but not limited to) drug testing, medical
testing (e.g., TB), background checks, and new hire
orientation.
Protects the interests of employees and the company by proactively
monitoring the shifting legal landscape and developing and
enforcing policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws
and regulations.
Partners with the Chief People Officer to establish, monitor,
report, and strategically respond to people KPIs.
Provide strategic guidance to managers and other members of the
Talent team on managing complex employee relations issues in a
compliant and empathetic way.
Maintains electronic employee files and consistently uploads
documents in accordance with best practices.
Sets an example for all employees by living our core values
authentically and transparently.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What you will need
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Human Resources
or a related field.
SRHM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or other HR certification preferred.
Minimum of eight years' experience in an HR role or comparable
experience.
Minimum of three years' experience managing HR team members.
Deep, up-to-date, knowledge of California employment law.
Proficient in administration of FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and ADA leaves of
absence.
Expert knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.
Proven history developing deep and trusting relationships with
operational leadership while part of a centralized service
function.
Builds and develops internal and external relationships; creates
partnerships, builds trust, shares ideas, and accomplishes work
quickly and efficiently.
Proven history maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational
skills and focus on details.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to thoroughly understand the organization's hierarchy,
jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the
administrative practices related to those factors.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet
deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to quickly learn and accurately use new and/or existing
recruiting and HRIS platforms/software.
