Position Title: IT Security Engineer (Req #: 85) Location: Fresno, CA Date Posted: 03/09/2023 Position Description: Job PurposeThe IT Security Engineer interacts with colleagues at all levels of the Company and assist in providing technical security support for software, hardware, mobile and network systems, troubleshooting network access and implementing network security policies and procedures. This role handles confidential and proprietary information and requires the ability to work independently within the established procedures to ensure network security access and protect against unauthorized access, modifications, or destruction. Responsibilities include performing risk assessments, audits, monitoring network activity to ensure the highest level of protection and defense of our corporate networks and data from advanced, targeted attacks.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Maintain general working knowledge and awareness of concepts such as Identity & Access Management (IAM), Access Controls, Authorization, Encryption of data at rest / in transit, multi-factor authentication, web application firewallsPerform security testing and vulnerability assessments to identify security strengths and weaknesses, to assess the effectiveness of existing controls, and to recommend remedial actionReview audit trails, system logs and other monitoring data sources regularly and ensure compliance with policies and audit requirementsAssist with the deployment, integration, and configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with good practice standardsEnsure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data residing on or transmitted to/from/through enterprise workstations, servers, and other systems and in databases and other data repositories through the enforcement of enterprise security policies, monitoring of security tools and managing the Enterprise security services, escalating as required and raising security incidentsSupport investigations from a technical perspective into events of interest and security incidentsSupport Service-related incidents where Security can provide additional intelligence and insightsExpert knowledge of Security management principles and practice, including Threat/Vulnerability/WAF/IDS/IPS/Patching/SIEM Management/Service managementProven ability to conduct research into issues and products as requiredAssist in developing and implementing an ongoing risk assessment program targeting information security and privacy mattersDevelop, Implement, and Maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan that allows that organization to fully recover from a disaster eventDevelop, Implement, and Maintain a Business Continuity Plan to enable high availability of the organizations most critical systemsManage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverabilityPerform repairs on faulty system/server hardwareTroubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability problems Position Requirements: QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience within security engineering focused roles in medium to large scale enterprises with IT Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent applicable experienceWindows/Linux Operating Systems (up to and including debugging)In-depth knowledge of multiple OS platformsIn-depth knowledge of authentication protocols, applied cryptography, PKI, and TLSExperience in secure development especially for internet facing intranet and cloud hosted applicationsIndustry security certification (CISSP, CEH) preferredExperience with virtualization technologies and virtual machine development and maintenance (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, Nutanix)Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsA valid California Driver's LicensePhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
