Structural Engineer in Fresno, CA. Looking for a role where your
engineering design will make an immediate impact on construction?
The CA High Speed Rail - CP2-3 Project is a large-scale
design-build project in Fresno, CA with on-going design and
construction work. We are looking to fill a full-time Senior
Structural Engineer position that will support the engineering
Design Services During Construction (DSDC) effort in our project
office located in Selma, CA office. This is the ideal role for a
mid-to-senior level structural engineer that wants to work
alongside the construction team as they build the project. Daily
tasks will allow construction to proceed, resolve field issues, and
coordinate with design team.
- Review supplier product drawing submittals and construction
shop drawings.
- Review construction submittals and process through DSDC
process
- Engineer solutions to resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
for field issues
- Coordinate with design engineer-of-record regarding field
Request for Information (RFI) responses
- Prepare construction as-builts
- Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important
engineering work efficiently and accurately.
- Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
- Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs,
estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings,
specifications, and other materials suitable for construction
purposes.
- Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as
well as construction team.
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other
construction documents.
- Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters,
Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same
project.
- May be required to provide the seal and signature of the
professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all
applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
- May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel
on engineering related matters.

other. - Here's What You'll Need: Bachelor's Degree in Civil
Engineering with a Structural emphasis
- Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages
typically associated with engineering is required.
- Familiarity with Caltrans standard plans, Caltrans bridge
design manual and memo to designers is desirable
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete design, prestressed and post
tensioned concrete design
- Knowledge of deep foundations design, repair and analysis for
CIDH piles and drilled shafts
- Practical knowledge of reinforcement detailing and rebar shop
drawings review
- Practical knowledge of post tensioning system shop drawings and
interpretation of field elongation measurements according to
Caltrans Specifications
- Familiarity with standard practice products in bridge
construction and repair procedures
- Knowledge of concrete mix design per ACI and AASHTO
- Familiarity with quality control activities such as pre-pour
inspections, etc.
- Ability to review workplans prepared by the construction team
and understanding the means and methods of construction
- Familiarity with falsework design and temporary SOE systems
during construction staging
- Strong communications and interdisciplinary coordination are

position is $100,700 to $190,450 , and is commensurate with
