Job Description:

Location: Fresno, CA Description: Our client is currently seeking a Packaging Engineer for their manufacturing plant located in California. -This role is responsible for leading packaging projects within the plant. - The Packaging Engineer will work with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, and on budget. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Manage daily packaging design and specification projects for all product categories
• Collaborate with suppliers to drive packaging changes that meet or exceed expectations.
• Responsible for establishing packaging lab and equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Lead packaging development projects across the company
• Communicate with all Stakeholders and other leadership teams functions to ensure capital projects are clearly defined and achieved
• Have an understanding of supplier manufacturing processes for all major packaging action items including film, printing, die-cutting, folding carton/corrugated, and printed/unprinted paper wraps to provide technical expertise for solving packaging-related quality issues.
• Maintain knowledge of developments and trends in packaging
• Execute cost savings initiatives for packaging and finished products and processes that will improve the value proposition.
• Assure the development of packaging and finished product specifications that are fit for purpose and protect company interests. Requirements:
  • At least 6 -12 years of professional experience related to Packaging in consumer goods, preferably in food, with experience working with cross-functional teams,
  • Strong technical expertise in multiple packaging components and materials, with
  • emphasis on multilayer flexible materials, overwraps and/or lidding materials.
  • BS Degree Preferred
