A local warehouse in Fresno is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant for a direct hire position, who can be attentive to the duties of being responsible for performing all accounting, controlling, reporting and analysis for the Company's inventory and all related accounts and processes. If your qualifications meet the requirements, apply and register with us today! Shift: 8am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday 40 hours weeks however must be flexible if and when OT is required. Perks: Direct Hire, Benefits, Some Flexibility in hours is allowed, Some Traveling (10%) Essential Functions Focus on cost and inventory financial analysis Interact with Production Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, and IT to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date. Review and audit BOM's to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices. Integral part of the transition from current ERP to D365 financial systems. Drive the enhancement of procedures and controls that ensure meaningful and reliable product costs and accurate inventories. Develop cost standards for materials and labor. Perform month-end cost and inventory accounting close, including the posting of journal entries and account reconciliations. Participate, review, reconcile, research and ensure weekly completion of cycle count process for all materials with the end goal of moving away from quarterly physical inventories. Prepare weekly inventory reporting to identify variances between our financial and inventory systems. Responsible for pulling support for all inventory / COGS audit requests (internal and external). Partner with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Receiving to lead quarterly physical inventories. Responsible for all inventory variance analysis related to physical inventory and the posting of all results to the general ledger. Understand all plant business processes and the impact on cost reporting. Involved in all accounting decisions related to plant transactions Research and resolve all general ledger and inventory discrepancies by coordinating with IT, warehouse, and other system owners. Work with team members to create and continuously improve management reporting and performance metrics. Assist members in understanding how they can affect financial results. Understand and ensure with SOX controls and narratives as related to Senior Cost Accountant position and responsibilities. Ad-hoc analysis as requested.
